STEAM education thrives in rural areas
岐阜市内にある学習塾を会場とし、こども向けの 3D プリンター講座を開催した。
ミライのこどもワークショップ in 岐阜ワークショップは小学生向けと中高生向けの 2 部に分けて行われた。小学生向けワークショップでは事前に我々で作成したRhino+Grasshopper プログラムのパラメーターをこどもたちが変更し、好きな寸法のペン立てをモデリングして G-code に書き出し、一緒に 3D プリントした。中高生向けプログラムでは音標本プログラムを活用した。生徒自身の声をその場でレコーディングしその波形を用いてペン立ての側面形状をモデリングした。さらに 3D プリントも行った。
普段馴染みのない技術に触れることでこどもたちに興味関心を抱いてもらい、サイエンス・モノづくりに関して彼らが見ている世界が広がるきっかけづくりを目指したワークショップとなった。
A 3D printer course for children was held at a cram school in Gifu City.
The workshop was divided into two parts, one for elementary school students and the other for junior and senior high school students. In the workshop for elementary school students, children changed the parameters of the Rhino+Grasshopper program we had created in advance, modeled a penholder of their favorite dimensions, exported the model to G-code, and printed it together in 3D. The program for middle and high school students utilized a sound specimen program. The students’ own voices were recorded on the spot, and the waveforms were used to model the side shape of the penholder. 3D printing was also conducted.
The workshop was designed to spark children’s interest in technology with which they are not familiar, and to create opportunities for them to expand their world of science and manufacturing.

ペン立てをつくって、こどもたちに持ち帰ってもらった。
We made pen holders and had the children take them home.
