落語とテンセグリティー
Rakugo and tensegrity
Z 落語の主催する YOSE in nagoya に合わせ、会場演出を担当した。Z を想起させるモチーフ、そして伝統とクラブカルチャーの融合という絶妙なバランス感覚で成り立つイベントを象徴するものとして、テンセグリティを取り入れた。テンセグリティの圧縮材がある角度では Z のように見えたり、あるいはすべての部材が浮いて見えたりすることで空間の面白さを表現できるのではないかと考えた。
落語を象徴する高座と提灯をモチーフとするオブジェクトを、光を反射する金属素材のテンセグリティにより製作し、畳とモルタルとライティングを融合させた空間に仕上げた。
We were in charge of staging the venue for YOSE in nagoya, an event organized by Z Rakugo, and incorporated tensegrity as a motif that evokes Z and symbolizes the event’s exquisite balance of tradition and club culture. I thought it would be possible to express the interest of the space by making the compressed materials of tensegrity look like a Z from certain angles, or by making all the materials appear to float.
The objects, which are the motifs of a high stool and lanterns symbolizing rakugo (traditional Japanese comic storytelling), were fabricated with tensegrity, a metallic material that reflects light, to create a space that combines tatami mats, mortar, and lighting.
